JUNEAU — The State Board of Education and Early Development will meet by video/teleconference on Jan. 27, starting at noon. The meeting will originate from the auxiliary boardroom at the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development, 801 West 10th Street, Suite 200, in Juneau.

Topics include opening a period of public comment on proposed regulations regarding Praxis test scores for teacher certification. The board will hear reports regarding required assessments, results of the request for proposal for a new testing vendor and the upcoming legislative session. The board will be asked to approve the administration’s proposed operating and capital budgets for K-12 education. It also will be asked to approve the hire of a new division director.
