ANCHORAGE -- The state of Alaska last week announced the opening of three land offering programs.
The Mental Health Trust Land Office (TLO) is accepting sealed bids until Oct. 26 for 47 parcels of land; on Oct. 3, the Alaska Department of Natural Resources will begin over-the-counter sales of approximately 800 parcels of land; and in November, DNR will have a sealed-bid auction sale that offers the public an opportunity to bid on approximately 1,600 parcels of land.
The Mental Health Trust Land Office is offering waterfront parcels in Southcentral and Southeast areas of the state through a sealed-bid sale.
People do not need to be Alaska residents to bid, and may acquire more than one Trust land parcel.
To participate in the TLO land sale, a completed bid package is due by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26. Auction parcels will be awarded to bidders who submit the highest bid.
The minimum bid for each parcel is identified in the 2001 Land Sale Booklet, which can downloaded from the Mental Health Trust Land Office Web site at http://www.dnr.state.ak.us/mhtlo/.
On Wednesday, Oct. 3, DNR will offer over-the-counter (OTC) land parcels not sold in the summer 2001 Alaska State Auction #416 through an OTC sale. The OTC sale is not limited to one parcel per person and interested buyers do not need to be residents of Alaska.
To participate in the initial opening of the OTC, a completed OTC application package is due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2.
More information can be found on the DNR Web page at http://www.dnr.state.ak.us/land/disposals.htm.
DNR is offering another 1,600 parcels of land through a sealed-bid auction in the fall 2001 Alaska State Auction #422. DNR will award parcels to bidders who submit the highest bid.
DNR expects the fall 2001 Alaska State Auction # 422 brochure will be available within days. The DNR Web page, http://www.dnr.state.ak.us/land/disposals.htm, will identify specific information regarding this brochure, application procedures, and the lands offered in the fall 2001 auction.
