You won't want to miss this opportunity to show off all your artistic talent for a good cause! The fifth annual CHAIR-ity Auction event is June 13, following the Colony Days Parade. MY House will auction off artistically designed chairs created by community members of all ages. All proceeds support homeless youth in the Valley.
Community members, families, youth groups and businesses are encouraged to decorate a chair — new/old, a garden chair, or a thrift store special. Some of the past artists have worked their magic with duct tape, paint, mosaic, papier-mâché and with fabric. Anything and everything goes! (If you would like to see examples from past years, check out the photo albums on the MY House Facebook page or go directly to Pinterest for hundreds of fabulous ideas.)
Chairs will be displayed June 12 at the Gathering Grounds Café in Wasilla (home to MY House), in the Colony Days Parade June 13 in Palmer, and auctioned at St. John Lutheran Church (across from the Mat-Su Borough building) during their community picnic at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Please help our local homeless youth by creating a chair and/or by attending the auction. It is always a fun and worthwhile event!
