Wes Bob Tires owner Wes Erickson works on putting a tire on a rim Thursday morning at his shop at Mile 39.5 of the Glenn Highway. Erickson has been working from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and does between 12 and 15 sets of tire changeovers a day. As of Thursday morning, he was booked through May 15. The deadline to remove studded tires is today. Diversified Tire and Johnson’s Tire Service in Wasilla are on a first come, first served basis and suggest customers arriva early and leave their vehicles. The Midas shop in Palmer is booked through Saturday. A ticket for driving with studded tires after the deadline is $50 per vehicle.
