A student discharged a firearm on the Redington Jr./Sr. High School property Thursday afternoon, according to the Alaska State Troopers.
Troopers responded to the Knik area school about 2:35 p.m. According to troopers, a student discharged the firearm on school property outside of the school just after students were released from class. School staff immediately responded to the area, and secured the student and the firearm with no further incident, troopers said. Once troopers arrived, the student was arrested and referred to the Division of Juvenile Justice
Troopers said there were no injuries and an investigation is ongoing.
