Houston senior Savanna James has been named the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman Student Athlete of the Week.
James scored a combined 69 points during three games in the Grace Christian Classic at Grace Christian School in Anchorage last weekend.
The senior scored a season-high 31 points during a win over the host Grizzlies. James, who will play college basketball at Black Hills State University in South Dakota next year, tallied 21 points against Kotzebue. She also posted 17 against Barrow, the defending 3A state champions.
