Palmer High School senior Stephen Acher has been named the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman Student-Athlete of the Week.
The senior forward collected a goal and an assist to lead the Palmer High hockey team to a key 4-3 victory over the Wasilla Warriors at the MTA Palmer Ice Arena last week. Acher’s efforts helped the Moose pick up the win against their chief rival and go into the holiday break undefeated in North Star Conference play with a 5-0 mark.
Midway through the second period, Acher set up a Piers LaFrance shorthanded goal. He scored what would be the eventual game-winner with less than two minutes to play in the second period.
The Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman congratulates the Acher on his success.
