MAT-SU — Home school students in grades five through 12 who attend the Mat-Su Borough School District’s Twindly Bridge Charter School are learning to build robots from the ground up that will eventually map a maze.
In this session, students learn about electronics, microcontrollers, analog and digital sensors and programming. The programming starts out simple, but will become very sophisticated. Students will learn to remotely control their robots using Android tablets or cellphones, filter data, smooth data, store data, sift through data and apply sophisticated algorithms to make intelligent decision based upon the information that the robots collect.
Arduino students also have the opportunity to become proficient using the school’s 3D printer.
