WASILLA — Susitna Valley senior Cody Morgan led Valley athletes with a 15-point night during the Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches Senior All-Star Games April 14 at Wells Fargo Arena in Anchorage.
Morgan shot 7 of 11 from the field for the 1A/2A Team Gold during a 112 -87 win over Team Blue. Morgan was one of seven Team Gold players to hit double-digits in scoring. The group was Metlakatla’s Danny Marsden, whio finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Wasilla Lake Christian senior Jaden Kurtz also played in the 1A/2A boys’ all-star game, and finished with seven points and eight rebounds for Team Blue.
A pair of Valley players also hit the court for the girls’ 3A/4A all-star game. Houston senior Riley Davis chipped in five points for Team Gold in a 63-61 win over Team Blue. Redington senior Courtney Crockett finished with two points and four rebounds for Team Blue. Barrow’s Kuutuuq Danner finished with a game-high 19 for Team Gold.
In the 3A/4A boys’ all-star game, Wasilla senior Jordan Knight and Colony senior Will Freeman each scored four points for Team Gold in a 140-77 loss to Team Blue. Knight added six rebounds, and Freeman chipped in five. Grace Christian senior Tobin Karlberg, a UAA commit scored a game-high 26 points in Team Blue’s win.
