Su Valley senior wins another region title

WASILLA — A four-time region champion will lead a group of four Susitna Valley Rams into the state tournament.

Su Valley senior Marshall Pinard earned his fourth straight individual crown by finishing first in the 285-pound class during the Denali Conference Championships Saturday at Lathrop High School in Fairbanks.

Dalton Pinard also earned a region title, finishing first at 152 pounds. Cooper Stec (132) and Aiden Jolley (182) finished second and will also compete in the 123A state tournament.

Trio of Hawks reach finals

A trio of Houston Hawks reached the finals during the Kachemak Conference Championships at Anchorage Christian School.

Jens Knutson (120 pounds), Robert Ritter (182) and Malaki Barrett (220) each finished second for Houston.
