To the editor:
My greatest hope for this January’s special election is for a Mat-Su Borough mayor capable of promoting open and respectful dialogue among assembly members, borough management and the public.
To move forward, we need a borough mayor willing to listen to other views and to communicate honestly and openly when problems arise. We need a borough mayor with enough principle to base decisions on the merits of each case rather than appeasing political allies.
We need to elect a borough mayor who can handle differences of opinion with civility and who is fully able to appreciate the value of other perspectives while together serving the Mat-Su.
We are very fortunate Brian Sullivan is willing to run as Mat-Su Borough mayor. His levelheaded knowledge and wisdom, gained from years of public service, are greatly needed in facing the challenges of maintaining the Valley’s growth and many other critical decisions in the future.
Please join me in voting for Brian Sullivan for Mat-Su Borough Mayor on Jan. 12.
