On June 19, Big Lake residents celebrated summer during their annual solstice festival parade. The festival king and queen, Don and Dee Loesche, were the guests of honor in the parade, which also included representatives from Big Lake Emergency Services, the AmeriCorps group that is working in Big Lake this summer and various local organizations.
Other festival activities that took place in Big Lake on June 19 included a craft fair and children's games, music provided by the Greatlanders Air Force Band and the annual sailboat race on Big Lake.
