Summer Visitor Guide photo contest set

The Frontiersman is currently working on the Summer Visitor Guide 2000 for the Matanuska-Susitna area and is, once again, sponsoring a readers photo contest so we can put the best pictures available of the Valleys magnificent scenery, animals and activities into the Guide.

The top winner of the contest will earn $100.

Any Valley or visiting shutterbug is eligible to enter the contest. Photographs must meet the following criteria:

Photos must be taken in the Mat-Su Valley; and

Depict a summer scene or activity; and

Fall into one of three categories: scenic, recreational, or wildlife; and

Be the original work of the photographer, free of other copyrights; and

Be delivered to the Frontiersman by March 31.

Winners in each of the three categories will receive a years subscription (or extension of an existing subscription) to the Frontiersman. Category winners may appear within the visitors guide. Photographs will not be mailed back to entrants, but may be picked up at the Frontiersman by calling 376-5225, or by sending an e-mail message to: editor@alaska.net.

Entrants should be sure to have their name, phone number and mailing address attached to the photograph or on an envelope containing their entry.

Frontiersman employees and their immediate families are ineligible to enter the contest.
