Support Alaska Grown on April 7 when the Mat-Su Borough will make a decision whether to change the status of 213 acres of land at approximately Mile 72 to 78, Parks Highway.
This land has been designated as agricultural land for more than 40 years.
The Mat-Su Borough has given Co-Alaska approximately 1,000 acres of land to develop into a gravel pit; 213 acres of this land is agricultural land.
Only five percent of all food consumed in Alaska is grown in Alaska. In the event of a disaster there could be an economic crunch on food and all other supplies.
