Colony High baseball is hosting the state tournament this year at Hermon Brothers Field which will be held through Saturday. ASAA web site has all the game times and information.
On top of being host of the tournament, the Colony baseball team will be headed to the state tournament as the No. 1 team in the South Central conference after an incredible win over Kodiak.
Colony baseball ended its conference season undefeated for the second year in a row. The game against Kodiak determined the No. 1 team as Kodiak was going into the game with a 4-1 record compared to Colony’s 5-0 record.
And an exciting game it was. Kodiak scored the first run in the top of the second inning and Colony got their first run in the bottom of the fourth. It was a tie ball game through the seventh going into extra innings and not ending until the bottom of the ninth. Colony earning the conference championship title.
With state being local this year it would be great for the valley residents to come support these boys who also made an appearance at state last year and took third place. Let’s support our local ball clubs. And let’s hope the coverage for the tournament keeps people informed on the games.
Go Colony baseball!!!
