To the editor:

Hello, my name is Dave Rykaczewski, owner of Mat-Su Landscaping and Lawn Maintenance in Wasilla. For more than a year now we have been a registered contractor for Project Evergreen. Its mission is to provide free lawn care and snow plowing to U.S military families while loved ones serve in the armed forces.

This is one small burden that we can bear together during this difficult time. It has been a powerful experience for both our business and our family. I want to make other businesses aware of this great program, because especially with the most recent deployment at JBER, there are a lot of families with spouses deployed that are in need of the services that we can provide.

As a contractor, you can register and decide how many lawns or plows your business can take on.

As a military family, you can register for these services and are connected with a contractor in your area. I do know many families on base in Anchorage, in Eagle River and in Fairbanks would benefit from this service.

If you are a contractor that has the ability to participate, I urge you to do so for a show of support for our troops and their families. If you are a family in need, I urge you to register and as we make more contractors aware of this great opportunity, our goal will be to provide this service to all of you.
