Last weekend hundreds of runners from across the state gathered at the ASAA Cross Country Championships in Palmer to compete against the elements, their competitors and themselves. For a young freshman from Kenny Lake and her first -year coach, it was an exhilarating experience to say the least, one that culminated in a memorable 1A-2A-3A state championship.
We’d like to take the time to thank all those fans, runners and coaches that helped us along the way.
A heartfelt thanks to all the volunteer fans that cheered for Kailey, most of whom didn’t even know where Kenny Lake was. A special thanks goes out to coaches Jane and Larry Buskirk of SuValley, competitors Bailey Stevenson and Missy Scott, the Wasilla girls’ team, Palmer coach Tim Lundt and Mike Janecek.
God bless and we’ll see you on the trails.
