To the editor:
The Mat-Su Borough has made some great strides in the past three years. Ron Arvin led the way to turn our local government away from being ruled by an anti-development mentality. Arvin has maintained focus on key economic development projects that will create jobs — projects that will create revenue other than property tax, as this will help alleviate the burden on the local property owner.
Arvin has a unique skill set in construction, resource development, international trade and finance. Arvin’s skill and insight have been vital to the continuing progress toward development of our port, rail extension and other projects to diversify our economy. It is for these reasons that Gov. Sean Parnell appointed Arvin to the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority and also to the Alaska Energy Authority. I and the rest of the Valley delegation admire Arvin’s skills, leadership and uncompromising public service. Arvin has my support on Oct. 2 and I hope that he has your support as well.
