Supports Kohring

To the editor:

It’s important when a person makes a mistake in life that we forgive and provide that individual a second chance. Vic Kohring should be given another opportunity to serve his community.

He has recognized he’s not perfect and has admitted repeatedly the error of his ways, despite the government taking things far out of context and making a huge case out of small issues. None of us are perfect and we all make mistakes. But hopefully, we learn from them, which makes ourselves better and wiser.

Vic is one of these people. We need to believe in him and that his education, work history and background as a planning commissioner and a longtime legislator makes him well qualified for Wasilla City Council.

I knew Vic while he was a legislator and continue to see him regularly at the Wasilla Senior Center. He remains a good, decent, Christian man. Nothing’s changed. In fact, if anything, he’s stronger than ever before. The good Lord puts many of us through trials and tribulations in life, but the question is how we respond. Vic has faced serious adversity in recent years with strength, determination and humility, which has made him a better, stronger person. He is someone we can be proud of as a public servant.
