Any homeowner in the Fairview Loop Community who votes for Mat-Su Borough Assemblyman Ron Arvin and Mayor Larry DeVilbiss might as well take their home equity and flush it down the toilet. Both of these gentlemen have demonstrated their intention to put industry concerns before homeowner’s investment concerns.
Right now Department of Transportation is actively engaged in a major redesign of Fairview Loop. At the cost of millions they are moving the entire west end of the road to line up with Clapp while straightening curves, widening lanes and adding four-foot wide shoulders on both sides of the road to, as DOT explained, among other reasons, accommodate truck wheel roll-off that occurs on curves.
When trucks from Wishbone Hill coal mine, strongly favored by Arvin and DeVilbiss, start rumbling down the newly created de facto Fairview Loop-Wasilla bypass, leaning on their Jake Brakes all through the night, spewing coal dust along with the unending noise, watch your home value plummet.
Never before has Fairview been so in need of Fairview-friendly representatives. We need to vote for Mark Masteller and Michelle Church neither of whom is beholden to truck companies or Wishbone Hill.
