To the editor:
People complain about how this borough has become so anti-development during the tenure of the Friends of Mat-Su (FOMS). They have engineered legislation that makes it virtually impossible for the harvesting of our timber products, create a viable power generation facility and now they are targeting the gravel and coal industries, both of which have brought many family paying jobs.
This Oct. 5, they are supporting both Warren Keogh and Pete Houston for Mat-Su Borough Assembly. If you would like to see this borough take its rightful place and attract new businesses, please do not vote for the FOMS candidates above. If the FOMS politicians had been here in Colony days, we would have never been allowed to clear the forests to establish our farming community!
There are two excellent alternatives to the status quo, those being 65-year resident Noel Woods for District 2 (Palmer) and 32-year resident George Rauscher for District 1 (Palmer, Farm Loop, Lazy Mountain, Butte, Sutton, Knik River, Chickaloon and Sheep Mountain).
Both are fiscal conservatives and both have deep roots in the community. These gentlemen have my support.
