Supports Rupright for Mayor

To the editor:

I am writing this letter in support of Mayor Verne Rupright’s bid for a second term for Wasilla Mayor. The city has a leader in Mr. Rupright that has decreased the cities sales tax at the same time decreasing the city’s long-term debt. The city has become efficient in tightening its belt with a 16 percent cut in the operational budget while increased its services. Rupright has followed through with his three-year plan that he developed at the beginning of his first term, which included, but was not limited to public safety emphasis, airport improvements, lakes and creeks clean up, acquisition of new parks and comprehensive plans put into place that work.

Any candidate running for mayor needs a workable strategic plan that can set the tone once in office. Ask each candidate running for Wasilla mayor what their plan is for the long run. Rupright can outline his three-year strategic plan for the city of Wasilla and tell you what has been accomplished from the first three years. Leadership isn’t managing a city but leading a city by placing highly qualified personnel into place so each and every department can also run efficient and Rupright has done just that. With a workable strategic plan and the right leaders overseeing each department Wasilla has become an efficient strong community and service oriented city thanks to Mayor Rupright.
