To the editor:
I have just read another piece on how Mark Begich is concerned about U.S. veterans and seniors in Alaska. There are approximately 10,000 to 15,000 veterans in the Mat-Su Valley area; however, when I called the Veterans Administration clinic checking if a permanent doctor had been brought aboard yet; all I got was a laugh for an answer. As I have told Begich at one of his previous Veterans forums “stop the lying about what you have done for the Veterans,” proof of how great he regards veterans and their health care is illustrated by how “great” the Veteran Administrations Health Care has been demonstrated nationwide under his “watch” by being on the U.S. Senate Veteran Affairs Committee. If Begich has done so much for the veterans how does he allow some of the things that are being said about Dan Sullivan — a Marine veteran — in his negative campaign ads.
Then ask Begich how much he left Anchorage and the older property owners “holding the bag” after his term as Mayor of Anchorage; or better yet check out how he and the National Democratic Party “stole” the 2008 U.S. Senate election from Senator Ted Stevens.
In my opinion, Begich should man up. I’m not voting for Begich because I’m an Alaskan and a veteran.
