Supports Woodruff for mayor

To the editor:

I was heartened when I heard that Wasilla City Councilwoman Dianne Woodruff is running for mayor. I wholeheartedly believe in her integrity, work ethic and steadfast determination to operate within the public arena with inclusion and transparency. She has a friendly, open manner that encourages the expression of opinions. She is patient, but gently guides the discussion to the points at hand so that meetings are productive.

I first met Dianne months ago when she returned my call regarding my concerns about the management of the Wasilla Senior Center. My opinion of Dianne is based upon numerous meetings I attended along with her and others over a period of months while the WASI situation was resolved.

I also was privileged to witness her outstanding leadership abilities during Wasilla City Council meetings. She respected her position on the council highly enough to always be well informed on the issues at hand and prepared for the meeting. Dianne has extensive experience in finance and will hold accountable those who seek money from the city, keeping them firm to the letter of the law. Yet, she does so while maintaining a respectful, calm demeanor.

What happens in Wasilla affects even those who live outside the city limits. My husband and I are in complete support of Dianne and have contributed to her campaign because we sincerely believe she will be the best mayor for Wasilla.

Dianne Woodruff possesses the strength, honesty and intelligence needed to lead effectively. She has vision and concrete plans to move the city of Wasilla forward.
