Surprise party was wonderful

To the editor:

I would like to thank friends and relatives for the wonderful surprise birthday party to celebrate my 80 years on July 23, 2011.

The most remarkable feat was the “secret” had been kept for many months in the Valley, back east with niece, nephew and daughter Maureen and family in Fernley, Nev., and of course son, Tom, whom I see every day!

Everyone made sure the day was memorable. Thank you all again!

There is only one slight glitch I would love to clear up. In all the excitement a card was lost that came with a beautiful floral stained glass piece that I look at every day in my picture window.

I hope I’ll be able to thank the one who gave it to me! Everyone involved and present that day was enough of a gift, so I keep praying someone will come forward and say “it was me!”
