WASILLA -- The Mat-Su Drug Team and agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration made two arrests Tuesday at a Wasilla home, after seizing evidence of a methamphetamine lab.
David M. Kaznakoff, 24, and Nichole M. Millsaps, 18, were arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, one count of second-degree misconduct involving weapons and one count of fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. Both were taken to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, with bail set at $20,000 cash-only for each defendant.
A methamphetamine-production lab was discovered in the residence, and officers said they found chemicals, scales, packaging materials and other items related to the production of meth. At the time of the search investigators reportedly found and seized meth that was cooking on a burner. They also found three firearms at the home.
The Mat-Su Drug Team is comprised of investigators from the Alaska State Troopers' statewide drug unit, Wasilla Police Department and Palmer Police Department. The statewide drug enforcement unit of the troopers is partially funded by a grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, United States Justice Department.
