SUTTON — An apparent heavy equipment accident on a remote property claimed the life of a 68-year-old community member Monday.
The accident was reported at 5:54 p.m., Oct. 6. Broadcasts on emergency band radio at the time seemed to indicate difficulty reaching the victim — Marvin Baker of Sutton — and called for all terrain vehicles.
Baker was “working on his property when he lost control of the tractor and it flipped off an embankment. Numerous EMS and Fire units arrived and responded to the scene, but were unable to resuscitate Baker prior to recovering his body from the hillside,” according to a trooper press statement.
Baker was declared dead and his remains handed over to the State Medical Examiner.
