PALMER — Local prep swimmers will hit the pool for the first time this season Saturday in the Colony Tri-Meet at the Palmer Pool.
Colony, Palmer and Wasilla will all compete in the event, just one of two swim meets scheduled in the Valley this season. Palmer High will host the Palmer Invitational Oct. 17-19.
Local teams are also scheduled to compete in the Homer Invitational (Sept. 6-7), Kenai Invitational (Sept. 20-21), Soldotna Pentathlon (Sept. 27), Soldotna Tri-Meet (Sept. 28) and Seward Invite (Oct. 11-12).
The Region III Championships are Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Kenai, and the state meet is Nov. 7-9 in Juneau.
Colony finished third in the Region III boys team standings last year. Palmer was third in the Region III girls team standings.
