PALMER — The Colony Knights and Wasilla Warriors posted runner-up finishes during the Kenai Invitational last weekend in Kenai.
Alexis Mattson used a pair of victories to help Colony finish second in the girls’ team standings with 75 total points. Mattson finished first in both the 100 freestyle and 200 individual medley. Camille Dayton also won the 100 butterfly for Colony. The Knights finished first in the 400 freestyle relay.
Wasilla used 67 total points to earn a second-place finish in the boys’ team standings. Camren Hancock led Wasilla with a victory in the 100 breaststroke. The Warriors also won the boys’ 200 freestyle relay.
Max Snelders helped Palmer finish fourth in the boys’ team standings with a first-place finish in the 200 individual medley. Tanner Belliston led Colony with a first-place finish in the boys’ diving. With 275.35 total points, Belliston broke a Colony school record. Belliston held the old mark, 267.05, set last year.
Wasilla’s Jayde Chan gave the Valley the sweep in the diving events, winning the girl’s dive. Gretchen Snelders led the Palmer girls with a victory in the 200 freestlyle.
