Nestled on a ledge high in the Swiss Alps lies the picturesque village of Murren. A scenic hour-long train and funicular ride places you at the edge of this traffic-free village.

As you stroll through town, you are serenaded by the soft sound of cow bells resonating as the cows lazily graze on the surrounding hillside and your eyes are treated to the quaint, flower-adorned chalets dotting the landscape.

The Berner Oberland region of Switzerland is laced with trails for hikers of all fitness levels, beginners through advanced.

Whether you opt for a leisurely walk or intense hike, you'll be rewarded by the breathtaking panorama that stretches for miles.

For an added treat, take the gondola to the 10,000-foot summit of the Schilthorn to the Piz Gloria station. A meal in the revolving restaurant is worth the price for the amazing 360-degree view you get in exchange.

The Piz Gloria also offers a film room showing a multi-screen slide show and highlights from the James Bond thriller, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," which was filmed on the Schilthorn.
