TALKEETNA — A Talkeetna man died early Saturday morning after his all-terrain vehicle overturned and pinned him underneath the water of Birch Creek.
According to Alaska State Troopers, Craig Wayne, 56, was driving the ATV alongside the creek when it slid off an incline into the creek, landing on top of Wayne.
After getting the call at approximately 1 a.m., Troopers and emergency medical personnel traveled to the scene by chartered jet boat, but were unable to resuscitate Wayne. His body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage.
