TALKEETNA — Information from a cell phone provider led authorities to a Montana Creek home where someone had called 911 at 1 a.m. Saturday to report a killing, Alaska State Troopers said.
The search for the origin of the call took several hours. When they arrived, troopers found two men with gunshot wounds.
One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene and emergency responders flew the other man to an Anchorage hospital. The surviving man was listed in critical condition and troopers were attempting to notify his next of kin, troopers said.
The dead man has not been positively identified, according to troopers, who did not provide other information regarding the exact location of the alleged crime or other details.
The investigation continued Saturday afternoon.
The trooper post in Talkeetna is set to close this year because of state budget shortfalls.
