WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers say they used a Taser Thursday to apprehend a suspect who gave a false name and then fled in his vehicle, and eventually on foot, following a traffic stop.
Troopers say they contacted the driver at a traffic stop around 4 p.m., May 29 near the intersection of Wasilla-Fishhook and Seldon roads for suspected drug activity and an equipment violation.
Although the driver initially provided troopers with false identification, he was subsequently identified as Jeremy Joel Fish, 31 of Delta Junction.
Fish fled the traffic stop and led troopers on a 20-minute chase that ended in a foot chase on Boulder Driver in Wasilla, troopers say.
Troopers say that during the chase, Fish nearly struck a Trooper with his vehicle, nearly rammed a marked patrol vehicle pursuing him, and placed his vehicle passenger in fear of being killed during the eluding while driving in a reckless manner.
As a result, Fish was arrest for assault, eluding, reckless driving, providing false information and for violating the terms of his probation. He was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was held without bail.
