Technology Camp applications due Friday

WASILLA — Mat-Su Borough School District students have until April 12 to apply to be part of the Technology Camp at Twindly Bridge Charter School June 3‐7. Classes are offered are:

• NXT — June 3, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., entering grades 3‐8. Learn to build and program Lego robots using the NXT robotics system. Find out how to make a robot detect and react to its environment. The final challenge will involve navigating a maze. Cost is $35.

• NXT — June 4, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., entering grades 3‐8.

• RobotC — June 5, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., entering grades 7‐12. Interested in high school level robotics competitions? Learn to program such robots using RobotC. Throughout the course of the day, participants will learn standard programming concepts and apply them to both virtual and real robots. Cost is $35.

• Android Tablet Programming — June 6, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., entering grades 7‐12. Learn to program apps for your Android tablet or phone using MIT’s APP Inventor, a simple icon-based programming language. Learn basic programming concepts and move on to program your own games. Cost is $35 and a Gmail account required in order to participate.

• Arduino — June 7, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., entering grades 7‐12. Learn to program a college level microcontroller and use what you learn to make robots that move or clothes that light up. This is a great way to learn about programming and electronics. Cost is $35.

• Android Apps — June 6, grades 7‐12.

Applications are due by 4 p.m., April 12. Participants will be chosen and notified the following week. If accepted, payment will be required by May 1. Space is limited.
