A 19-year-old was arrested Friday after an alleged threat of violence involving a local high school.

Alaska State Troopers were notified just after 10:30 a.m. on Friday that a threat to “shoot up” a school event at Valley Pathways was made verbally and via text. Troopers located the suspect, Dayton Miller, of Sutton, at his place of employment. Miller, a former Valley Pathways student, was arrested and has been charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and fourth-degree assault.

Troopers said there is no evidence that the suspect brought a firearm to a school or event, and the investigation continues.
