PALMER — Four teens were arrested early in the morning of Dec. 4 after a burglary in Palmer the day before.
Nathaniel Hale and Austin Terry, both 18 and from Wasilla, and a 17-year-old male were contacted by the Alaska State Troopers and Wasilla Police just after midnight Dec. 4. at a Wasilla residence, according to a dispatch report published by AST. A fourth male connected to the case, another 17-year-old, was contacted by authorities at 5:30 a.m. Dec. 4.
This all came after the report of a burglary off Oakwood Drive, which was reported at 5:12 p.m. Dec. 3. According to troopers, four people entered the residence through a broken glass door and stole firearms, cash, a bottle of alcohol and other household items.
Hale, listed as the primary suspect, Terry and the first 17-year-old contacted admitted involvement in the burglary, troopers said. All but two of the firearms and the alcohol were recovered at the Wasilla residence. Troopers said Hale was also found in possession of another handgun with serial numbers destroyed.
Hale was arrested on felony charges of burglary in the first degree, theft in the second degree, misconduct involving weapons in the third degree and criminal mischief in the third degree. Terry was arrested on burglary in the first degree, theft in the second degree and criminal mischief in the third degree. The 17-year-old contacted at the Wasilla residence was charged with burglary in the first degree, theft in the second degree and criminal mischief in the third degree.
The second 17-year-old was also charged with burglary in the first degree, theft in the second degree and criminal mischief in the third degree.
Hale and Terry were both arraigned on Dec. 4, are currently out of custody and have a preliminary hearing on Dec. 14. The charges for the 17-year-olds were forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
