Tested and tempted along the way

Plan B?

This week is shaping up to be a challenging week.

I started out my morning very healthy, eating a quarter of a cantaloupe and a banana for breakfast. Then the craziness of the day set in.

I’m working and staying in Anchorage this week because of some long work days and meetings. I had to stop by the office by the office on my way into Anchorage to pick up some supplies and reports. When I arrived, the building alarm was going off; the alarm pad indicated we had a glass break. A quick trip around the building found all glass securely intact, so apparently the wind rattled a few windows setting off the glass break sensors.

A very nice Alaska State Trooper responded to the alarm. After assuring him I was an employee and not a burglar answering his knocks, he came inside and did a quick tour of the building with me. It’s reassuring to know the troopers will, and do, respond to all alarms, but I had not planned this extra time out of my day into my schedule.

I’m back!

My week working in Anchorage turned into a week and a half and I found myself slipping off track and looking for the easy way out after a long day at work.

I just got home around 7 p.m. tonight and went straight for the salad for dinner. I have only safe food in the house, which is good. Too much eating out and eating on the run the last week and half made it too easy to slip back into my old eating habits. I didn't revert all the way back, but I certainly wasn't eating as healthy as I did the previous month. There were a couple of nights where I didn't even eat dinner, and I did stick to salads most other nights.

My workouts consisted mostly of cleaning and moving office furniture. There was a lot of opportunity for physical activity most every day. My muscles ached at the end of the day, so know I received a healthy dose of physical activity most days. I made it to the hotel gym once.

I haven't weighed in a couple of weeks, either so don't know how much I hurt myself yet.

I really missed my blog and hearing how the rest of you are doing. I hope you all had better success than I did the past week or so. Help keep me honest and on track! I feel I need 40 lashes with a low-fat whole wheat noodle!

I've been checking out the recipes that are being posted and noticed that there are no nutrition facts on any of them. I'd like to know things like serving size, calorie count, fat count — you know, the things we are all supposed to be looking at. Any info on any of the recipes?

I have many friends who have inspired me to lose this weight that I allowed to pack on. One of them will be featured in the First for Women magazine that will be coming out the 25th of this month. I am so excited for her to be featured in a major publication. Her name is Caroline Murphy and she is a SomerSizer. I am doing the plan, as it works to do this forever and not just for the duration of losing weight. This will be my new “weigh” of life. Kudos to all who are making it happen, no matter what plan you are using.
