WASILLA — The Mat-Su Borough Assembly passed a resolution this week in support of the effort to expand Medicaid in Alaska.
Residents will have a chance to voice their opinions on the issues from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday at the Legislative Information Office, 600 E. Railroad Ave., in Wasilla. People need to signup to testify by 4:30 p.m., April 11.
Mat-Su Healthy Foundation also supports the expansion, which would expand access to more than 4,000 people in the Mat-Su and more than 40,000 statewide.
The health foundation estimates the expansion and reform effort would bring in $20 million annually in new federal revenue to the Mat-Su. And would lead to the addition of 72 new local jobs and $1.3 million more in wages and salaries in the Mat-Su.
