The board of the Knik Museum would like to express their appreciation to Hobo Jim for the heart-warming concert he gave on September 8th at the museum. Hobo Jim has been donating his time for this free family-friendly concert each fall for several years now.
We would also like to thank the wonderful sponsors of this event: Jacobson’s Greenhouse, Wasilla Carrs-Safeway for the cake, Three Bears on KGB for pizza, Mahays Riverboats and Talkeetna Air for donating excursions, Alaska Railroad for the donation of a train excursion and a print, Eleanor Wilde for donations of her artwork, David Bastian for his ongoing support of the museum as a good neighbor, and museum guide Diane Williams for all her efforts in organizing this event each year. If you haven’t attended this concert before, put it on your calendar for next September!
As a reminder, the museum, highlighting the history of Knik, the boom town of the Upper Cook Inlet from the late 1800’s until the railroad went through in 1917, is still open until Oct. 1, Wednesdays through Sunday from 1-6 PM. Call 376-7755 or visit the Wasilla-Knik Historical Society’s website at www.wkhsociety.org to learn more about our organization.
