Thank you to AARP volunteer tax aides

To the editor:

AARP Tax-Aide volunteers are a special group of people who give their time and expertise to provide a free income tax service for the residents of the Mat-Su Valley year after year.

This year, our volunteers prepared 619 returns with a total refund amount of more than $556,000 returned to the Mat-Su Valley area. These volunteers are the people who make the AARP Tax-Aide Program the great success it has become.

To all our AARP Tax-Aide volunteers, I want to personally thank you for the commitment and dedication you give to the program. The time and attention you give to each Alaskan in the preparation of their tax returns is truly amazing. I am so proud of all of our tax aide volunteers throughout the state.
