We would like to say thank you to everyone who helped make Margaret Lucas’ 100th birthday celebration such a pleasant and memorable occasion.
A special thanks to Mike Fritz for working his magic on the prime rib dinner at the Moose Lodge, Sen. Mike Dunleavy for shepherding through the Alaska Legislature the citation that was presented (much to her surprise) to her on her birthday, the city of Palmer for declaring her birthday, Feb. 14, as “Margaret’s Day” (also much to her surprise) — both of which saluted her long history and contributions to Alaska and Palmer — and to everyone else who helped make it such a special day.
It is this sort of community spirit that explains why there’s nowhere else we’d rather be!
