To the editor:
God’s power is taking over the power company. Blessings are blowing mental circuits. The light of glory is being turned on as pennies from heaven fall.
Matanuska Electric Association has surged beyond power. It is lifting up faces. It is jolting hearts to life. It is electrifying senses and connecting poles from heaven to earth.
“Wow” is all I can say. God is good, and we the people are a part of it all.
The Round Up Program gives people the opportunity to round up their bills to the nearest dollar. So, a $63.82 electric bill becomes $64. Then the extra 18 cents goes into a fund to help the needy.
So, be it one penny or 99 cents, it can change a life (and is). On average, it only costs the giver about $6 to $7 a year, and donations are accepted.
Round Up has already given away more than $88,000 to bless the less fortunate. Wow! And it’s all because hearts decided to offer heart, and my heart is moved. I am on a disability income and have been informed that I will be a recipient of your blessing.
My need was great and my bank account was weak, but my faith was stronger than both. And God has used everyone involved in the Round Up Program, both workers and givers, to fulfill his promise of faithfulness. The extension cord of this life giving has reached as far as Willow.
Life-changing pennies. My pen weeps with joy. Ink flows with thanks to all of you. As tears cried, they washed a heart of stone, touched.
A burden carried has been lifted by the grace of God and you, his good and faithful servants. You will reap what you sow, and your harvest will be greater than you know.
God bless you all. And again, thank you all ever so much with all my shocked heart.
I challenge other utility companies and businesses to start their own programs to change a life. Whoever said a penny wouldn’t buy anything? And oh yes, tears of joy are worth every cent, for a labor of love is no sweat.
