Valley Residential Services and co-host Wasilla Area Seniors Inc. wishes to thank Mat-Su Health Foundation and United Way Mat-Su for their funding support in helping to bring about the second annual Community Health Fair at the WASI facility March 8. Without their generous support, this event would not have been possible.
This event featured a program produced by AK Health Fair Inc., which offered numerous health-related exhibits and booths ranging from diabetes education to tobacco cessation, and offered free services ranging from blood pressure taking to foot care.
Low-cost blood chemistry tests were available and were very popular. Many volunteers from local agencies and groups manned the booths and stations and provided the services at this fair. Nearly 100 people attended the health fair, many expressing their appreciation for the event and a desire to attend the next annual fair.
