To the editor:
May is Foster Parent Appreciation Month. Alaska Center for Resource Families and the Office of Children’s Services celebrated with our foster, relative and adoptive families at our annual Resource Family Appreciation Picnic last Saturday.
We had a great turnout and enjoyed lunch and games at Wonderland Park in Wasilla.
Thanks to the following for their generous donations: Diversified Tires; B. Bella; Alaska Sealife Center; SEG; MTA; HQ Headquarters; Home Depot; Sharon Welker/DQ; Donna Kimball/WMS/SWS; Waldenbooks; Fishhook Ward Relief Society; TOTE; Scoops; GCI; Fred Meyer; Mat-Su Miners; MSRMC; Linda Branson/State Farm; Project Linus; MEA; 4-H Cooperative Extension Service Pillow Patrol; Shannon Sanderson/Loving Radiance; Tundra Cotton; Twisted Balloons; Slacks; Bagels Alaska; Krazy Moose; and Rusty’s Restaurant.
We also want to thank our wonderful event volunteers: Genie’s crew; Danita’s gang; the Gette-Shields bunch; Alia and family; Carol Huizar and Job Corps Human Services students Urban, Cheng and Katherine; Sara Wilber and Anthony Phillips/TATU/AFS; and the Wildbird Rehab Center.
It would not have been a success without the hard work of the OCS and ACRF staff that gave up a Saturday to make sure we took care of our resource families.
