Thanks for a young man’s kindness

To the editor:

Saturday I put my groceries on the conveyor belt, but told the clerk not to ring it up. I had forgotten my wallet. A voice behind me said, “Ring it up.” I turned expecting to see one of my buddies, but I had never seen this young man before. I asked his name, which was Steve. Then I asked his last name, which was Cline. I walked out with my groceries.

Steve, I give you what is priceless to me.

It is this question: When Jesus Christ died in your place on the cross — according to the Bible only, not what you think or feel — did he save you by that sacrifice? Yes or no?

When I was 29 years old I said “yes.” At 87, now I have never regretted that choice.

We need more people like you. I thank God that some are left. I would truly appreciate it if you would call me and give your mailing address to me. I will gladly write a $25 check to you for your Good Samaritan act when I needed it.

May God bless you, young man, all of your days.
