Largely due to the recognition and support of the Frontiersman, I had a fabulous 95th birthday party at Mat-Su Senior Services on Feb. 1.
It was delightful to see so many friends and relatives, and I am honored and humbled by the many cards, messages, gifts and flowers.
To top it off I was even given a golden Key to the City of Palmer!
Perhaps my boosterism of the city over the past 65 years paid off. Barney Felkner, my boss at the Bureau of Reclamation during the Eklutna Dam project in the early 1950s, accused me of being a “walking chamber of commerce” because I was so interested in people and activities in Palmer.

Thank you for your attention and kindness.
