To the editor:
Alaskans, you have done it again! Many of you have donated from your Permanent Fund Dividend checks to Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue (ADPR) through the Pick. Click. Give. program. Thanks to you, we will receive $39,574. You should be proud that you have chosen to make a difference in the lives of homeless puppies and dogs throughout the state.
In addition to rescuing dogs from Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley, ADPR also rescues dogs throughout the state, including Kenai and the following Bush communities: Bethel, Dillingham, Aniak, Kotzebue and Igigik.
It is through your kindness that ADPR has rescued almost 500 dogs so far this year. Each of these dogs has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and had its medical needs addressed. ADPR also provides community outreach by helping eligible Alaskans with veterinary, transportation and training costs.
Again, ADPR thanks you and encourages your continued support for the many dogs and puppies that continue to need our involvement. Have a wonderful holiday season and let’s look forward to a time when there will be no more homeless pets in Alaska.
