To the editor:
As we near the end of the school year, I am reminded of your generosity and the generosity of our community. The school supplies you provided to our school at the beginning of the year were so wonderful.
I want to takes this opportunity to thank the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman for caring for our children. The school supplies you provided to Sherrod go a long way in making life and school easier for our students. It is a delight to be able to offer school supplies to parents and children when they arrive at school with no supplies and very tight finances.
I see eyes light up as the student and the caregiver see the array available to them at no cost. I always tell them who has provided the items.
The generosity of our community is testimony to what caring for those around us is all about. It is one burden that is lifted from the shoulders of a family who is doing the best they can with their resources, but there just isn’t’ enough.
Again, thank you for your work in this area. It means so much to us.
