Due to a number of kind volunteers and contributors, creative student winners in the annual Wasilla Soil and Water Conservation District Conservation Poster Contest were awarded various prizes and awards.
This year’s theme “Where does your water shed?” challenged students to reflect and graphically express themselves. Nine of the entries earned positions to represent Alaska and compete in the national contest.
The district wishes to recognize the following contest supporters: Janet St. George, Town Square Art Gallery; Bob Shumaker, president, Alaska Farmers Union; U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; Alaska Department of Fish and Game; NRCS; National Association of Conservation Districts; the Alaska Division of Agriculture; and Jeanne Troshynski, Midnight Sun Charter School.
Behind the scenes, they ensured a quality Conservation Education event.
