Thanks for supporting Special Olympics

To the editor:

Special Olympics Alaska Mat-Su Community Program would like to thank our wonderful Valley businesses and volunteers for help with our fun and successful Spaghetti Feed and Auction Night Feb. 11.

In particular, we would like to give a huge thank-you and standing ovation to American Legion Post 35 in Wasilla for the use of its facility and generous donation of our spaghetti dinner. Additional thanks go to the many Valley businesses too numerous to mention here that, in spite of a sluggish economy, saw fit to donate goods and services to our auctions.

Lastly, thanks to our many and tireless volunteers and supporters, including the five dynamic members of the Denali Destroyer Dolls roller derby team who performed as runners during our auction. Also much thanks to auctioneer extraordinaire Garth Grover, who not only ran a smooth auction, but stayed late to mop the floor. Now that is a true fan. Thank you, everyone.
